Cult Leader Hailed as "New Messiah"

A 60-year-old Evangelist Jose Louis De Jesus Miranda believes he is Christ reborn. That statement alone should make every one roll there eyes. How about the fact he has a "666" tattooed on his arm, and is an ex convict and heroine addict? How about the fact that he has thousands and thousands of worshipers world-wide. This man is claiming he is god, after having been told in a dream by angels 20 years ago. Presumably during a heroine fueled nap.
Prof. Daniel Alvarez, a religion expert at Florida International University, was quoted as saying "De Jesus speaks with a kind of conviction that makes me consider him more like David Koresh or Jim Jones." Those two names being infamous cult leaders, the latter organizing a 900 person mass suicide in 1978.
What kind of a person would buy into this story? Honestly, he is claiming he IS god! William Salazar, a Queens contractor, happily donated $50,000 to the man he calls God. “Everything that I own is his because without him we wouldn't be here.” Maybe it is because he preaches a theology based upon the idea there is no such thing as hell or sin, and that his followers can do no wrong in the eyes of God.
"The Antichrist is the best person in the world," De Jesus says. "Antichrist means don't put your eyes on Jesus because Jesus of Nazareth wasn't a Christian. Antichrist means do not put your eyes on Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Put it on Jesus after the cross."
This new "messiah" is escorted in armored vehicles, wears designer jewelry and clothing, and has a $136,000 annual paycheck. All gifts from his worshipers. This is the epitome of oblivious and stupid faith. Religion should never be taken this far, but for some reason to these people, this is more believable that the idea of evolution. Nuts.

Hyspace,com

This is a pretty big waste of time to make, but I'm glad that someone did cause its sweet. What if the internet were in Hyrule? This answers that long existing question. neat. Hyspace.com
Hell

This is a poem i wrote last year, and now that i have begun to understand the world around me, this poem seems even more fitting, though this place may not be hell if after death there is indeed no consciousness. here we go anyways:
There is a Hell. You believe there is no God or Satan but there is a hell.
No Fire and Brimstone.
Imagine Darkness.
Imagine worse that Darkness. It is the feeling all light has left, that is has never even existed.
There is no far off echo of warmth offered by a ray of light bravely piercing the black space your soul now restlessly resides.
Imagine Silence.
A space so vast yet so stuffy that a scream goes un-noticed even to you.
Now imagine that every memory of joy, love, and affection is silently swallowed by that never ending expanse. Only to leave you as an empty shell void of all hope and thought. The only thing to accompany is the total lack there-of.
Complete and absolute, nothingness.
It is hopefully helpful for some people to see that if this is what people are living in fear of, then there would not be much hope. Maybe there is in fact some sort of negative energy that we are delved into after we leave the physical realm, but i think this poem talks about an idea of emptiness that may exist, though in reality we may not be aware that is where we are. There are many things to consider with where we end up, and this is a very negative option, but may be close to the truth.

Popular Infatuation

With the recent death of Anna Nicole, and my newly developed cynicism toward many of Americas ridiculous cultural practices, i have noticed (at least in myself) a growing dislike for the American peoples infatuation with useless trivial news. Less and less I find myself spending time on such trite activities as seeing what the cause Anna Nicole's death was, or how amazing it is when beniffer, brangelina, or whoever have even the smallest hiccup in there amazingly successful lives. These people are worshiped in America. Literally worshiped. If this does not sound imbecilic to you, then you need to re-think your priorities and purpose in this world. More and more I do find myself reading enlightening books, reflecting on life, writing just for the sake of writing, and playing the best music of my life. Too often the bourgeois American society looks to MTV and FOX for the most recent scoop, and nary a thought is placed on the world outside of our own self indulgent nation. In a country that ranks 49th for literacy out of all U.N. nations, and whose most powerful and influential news papers are written on an 8th grade reading level, is it any surprise that there is little to no pressure placed on the common American to look outside of their own selfish problems and attempt to gain a better understanding of the world around them?
It seems like everyone and their mother now has a Myspace and/or Facebook, myself included, but the extremes that some people take it to are outrageous! Hundreds of pictures of oneself uploaded and precisely arranged to show people every aspect of their lives. It is becoming increasingly important to realize that while we may be one of the most intelligent and technologically advanced nations, that intelligence is not based on an average, but on a few people who make up for the numerous and vast number of feeble minded citizens. We are quickly being left in the dust by forward thinking nations, who abide by set rules and place their faith not in a hopeful miracle or ancient scripture, but in reason and truth. It is a stubborn nation that is an uneducated nation, and we seem to take the proverbial cake when it comes to being pertinacious. Whether it is a war on drugs or a war on "terror" the music does not change. And the beat always stays the same. An ignorant president backed by an entire society that simply does not care. American citizens are more powerful than any citizen in any other nation. We wield incredible amounts of power simply by voting for a bill, law, or government leader. Sadly, our government has become so separated from the people that on average only a fraction of what our government does is known to us. Imagine if instead of tabloids and fitness magazines next to the check out, there were political magazines from around the world. Science magazines and actual intelligent pieces of writing, in place of these contrived pieces of work written solely to relate to the common teenager there could be books that make us think!
I feel lucky that I have begun to question society and not just go along with the massed herd. It is imperative to learn, absorb, and question. Question everything and always try to attain a more enlightened state of being.
Religion Sells

Though lately I have felt the many extreme Christians are in the wrong, and in fact maybe ALL Christians are wrong in placing their faith in such dogmatic beliefs, that doesn't mean other religions are any more right. Barbie dolls in the Mideast are almost no longer sold, in their stead, the Fulla Doll. Designed to instill more proper "Muslim values." Fulla roughly shares Barbie's size and proportions, but steps out of her shiny pink box wearing a black abaya and matching head scarf. Oh and don't forget the prayer mat included with every Fulla doll. Now Fulla can join you in your prayers to a false idol!
Parents in the mideast who would never dream of buying their children a Barbie doll seem to have no problem in buying these dolls. In Damascus, a Fulla doll sells for about $16, in a country where average per capita income hovers around $100 per month. Ahhh sweet sweet capitalism.
